The company is a global leader in cost-effective repair and maintenance solutions. Castolin Eutectic offers maintenance, surface protection and special joining using welding, brazing and coating technologies in different industry sectors, such as oil & gas, steel, chemical, waste & recycling, pulp & paper, glass, power generation, agriculture and mining.


The company was sold from Messer Group to Paragon Partners in 2021. With the carve out a new management structure will be established.


We are currently recruiting a Plant Cost Controller. This role will be challenge the local production/maintenance/logistic/purchase cost responsible managers. The purpose of this role will be to provide commercial transparency on one of the groups key manufacturing site


This position is functionally reporting to Global Supply Chain and Global Controlling.


This position is mainly located in Dublin, but will be in future part of a flying controlling team.

Job requirements

The main responsibilities will be to:


  • Ensure correct product costing, in compliance with company guideline. Responsible for standard costing and variance reporting procedure (calculating labor rates, material overhead, production overheads, machine rates, costing runs, calculating and establishing allocations, over- and under-absorption, PPV, production order variances)
  • Leads savings initiatives and implements appropriate tracking mechanisms
  • Provides oversight on inventory topics, including WIP Aging Review, annual stock counts
  • Performs CAPEX calculations and support other business cases in alignment with global guidelines.
  • Completes analyses of operations KPI’s; DIO, scrapping rate, yields, etc.
  • Plays a significant role in the annual budgeting process



Skills and Attributes:

•Flair for working on the shop floor with a solid understanding of production processes

•Experienced in business transformation & ERP implementations is a bonus
•Strong knowledge and leadership of cost accounting and ERP Controlling functionality (we use MS365)
•Knowledge of product costings processes and master data (Work centers, BoM’s, Routings, activity rates/types, overheads, cost centers, machines rates, labor rates, internal orders, allocation cycles).
•Knowledge of accounting principles, COGS and data analytics
•Ability to prioritise work and navigate between detailed and overall approaches, self-disciplined to control the quality of deliverables
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
•Experience in Microsoft Excel to manipulate data with pivot tables, graphs and formulas for reporting as well as PPT to present results to Management
