Job description

  • managing spend and supplier portfolio for packaging material
  • liase and align with Castolin’s supply and market centers to drive packaging standardization and supplier portfolio harmonization
  • writing and processing packaging specification
  • developing sourcing strategy for packaging material, monitoring and controlling adherence
  • analyzing market trends and cost drivers, negotiating prices and terms of purchase
  • preparation of sourcing decisions at best possible conditions in terms of competitiveness in cost, quality and delivery
  • close coordination with plant operations and engineering to assure timely execution of product development & tooling, sample submission and testing
  • confers with current and new potential suppliers to determine supplier capabilities in terms of production capacity, transportation and inventory management
  • conducting RFQs and cost analysis
  • identifying and realizing cost reduction potentials
  • supporting interesting and varied projects in the Commodity Indirect Material
  • administration of supplier contracts, price and supplier master data

Job requirements

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship specializing in Purchasing, degree in packaging engineering, or Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years purchasing experience in an international company with packaging background
  • Knowledge of the Global Pack market and sustainability standards
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Agile, assertive and organized
  • excellent administrative skills, great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of project management desirable
  • Very good knowledge of English, preferably other languages like French & German
  • Willingness for occasional business travel
